Veolia is very proud of our award-winning municipal water team serving the city of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The city's wastewater treatment facility has been awarded the Oklahoma Water Environment Association's Burke Safety Award for 2023. The Bartlesville Wastewater Treatment Plant has not experienced a workplace injury resulting in an employee needing to miss work since November 1, 2006, more than 6,300 days and counting. Veolia's work for the city of Bartlesville is an example of what a thriving public-private partnership can achieve: a vital, enthusiastic workforce providing performance, sustainability and efficiency for critical public infrastructure.
The Burke Safety Award is presented every year to a wastewater treatment facility that has exhibited the best safety record in the past calendar year. The evaluation criteria include the overall safety record, the plant’s safety plan, and other criteria established by the Association. The purpose of this award is to encourage an active and efficient safety program in municipal and industrial wastewater facilities.
