The tour is part of Veolia's vision for meeting the sustainability challenges of the future
The group of fifth-graders from Oceanside School 8 in Oceanside, New York, may not have cared for the smell when they recently took a tour of the wastewater treatment plant that Veolia operates and maintains in East Rockaway, New York.
But they came away with an understanding of why the work being done there is important to the future.
The group’s field trip to the plant was documented in a story in the New York Times, saying it served as an “indication of how field trips have evolved as science curriculums have changed.”
The story demonstrates Veolia’s commitment to establishing strong connections with the communities we serve.
