Veolia North America celebrated its ongoing commitment to downtown Milwaukee with the September 5 grand opening of a new office space overlooking the Milwaukee River.

Spanning the third floor of the Historic Office Tower building, the new space will be home to approximately 150 employees who support VNA in the areas of Finance, IT, HR, and Legal. Designed with collaboration in mind, the new space offers a mix of individual workspaces, meeting areas, and social gathering opportunities to ensure it meets all the needs of the workforce while maximizing team comfort.

“This new office location will allow us to engage with, attract and retain talent by tapping into a robust workforce centered in Milwaukee, and to establish ourselves as an employer of choice as we continue to grow in the region,” said Fred Van Heems, President and CEO of Veolia North America.

In addition to celebrating the new space, Fred joined with VNA Municipal Water President and CEO Karine Rougé and Dean Amhaus, President and CEO of The Water Council, to announce a new partnership launching the Water & Wastewater Workforce Center in Milwaukee. This initiative is designed to grow the local water workforce, increase the pool of diverse talent and address workforce challenges in the industry. The collaboration will also work to advance new water and energy technologies to support Wisconsin’s Water + Energy Forward Engine, an initiative from The Water Council to develop critical water, energy and waste technology solutions for small and mid-size manufacturers and utility providers.

Community leaders including Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson, U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore and U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil, were given a first look at the work Veolia will be doing to continue to attract and retain talent and its leading role in protecting North America’s water resources.

Since 2008, Veolia has had a presence in Milwaukee operating the wastewater treatment system for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
