Veolia's work repurposing wind turbine blades featured on industry panel

Innovative partnership with GE Renewable Energy provides a roadmap for sustainable solutions

Veolia North America's recently launched program for repurposing wind turbine blades at the end of their life cycle was featured at an industry panel hosted by the Electric Power Research Institute in March. Currently, most wind turbine blades are disposed of in landfills when they reach the end of their life cycle, but the partnership with Veolia and GE is making it possible to break down the materials in the blades and use them for green cement manufacturing.

The March 23 virtual panel included a broad audience of 376 representatives from the utility industry, national laboratories, universities, non-governmental organizations and state and federal agencies, as well as large corporations, research firms and startup companies.

Check out the article in Utility Dive describing the panel discussion.
